The stables

The stables

As part of the overall reorganization of the garden and its surrounding areas, the spaces overlooking the eastern courtyard have also been reimagined.

Climbing roses and wisteria now adorn the walls of the simple structures surrounding the courtyard, which once served as the hub of the villa’s agricultural and maintenance activities. From here, a gate opens onto the path that ascends the eastern slope of the hill, historically used as a service entrance to the property.

The restoration of the stables building involved the masonry, the timber truss roof, the windows and doors, and the monumental portal, which replicates the appearance of stone blocks using plaster.
The intervention made it possible to refurbish the entire structure, equipping it with modern systems and replacing the severely deteriorated wooden roof.

The building still retains the evocative features of its original function, tied to the villa’s tradition of horse breeding. The horse stalls have been preserved, constructed from iron and wood, along with the original flooring—designed with features typical of spaces of this kind.

The exit leads to the parking areas, to Casa diamante (www.casadiamante.it), a rural farmhouse converted to host the dining service—and to the carriage depot, where the historic collection can be admired.

The former stables building now serves, in the section facing the courtyard, as the ticket office and front desk, while the rear section, where the tack room, harness storage, and horse stalls are located, has been adapted to house the farm’s product shop and an area dedicated to event organization.

The spaces of the stables are also intended to enhance the value of the carriage collection, displayed in one of the buildings uphill from the villa.

The restored areas will provide proper reception for visitors to the park and the villa, with the addition of modern facilities and a front office with ticketing services, equipped with digital entry control systems and serving as a distribution point for informational materials.

The ticket office and front office spaces, in agreement with the client/owners, have been enhanced by the installation of a magnificent Murano glass chandelier, adorned with a cascade of multicolored fruits.
This lighting piece was designed by Tomaso Buzzi for Marina Volpi di Misurata.

This 1930s design masterpiece, with its triumphant display of fruits, serves as a prelude to the visit of the garden, now reborn after recent restoration works (more information at pnrr.villadimaser.it).
