Carriage collection

A rustic annex belonging to the Villa houses, at the wish of Count Enrico Luling Buschetti and Countess Marina Volpi, a collection of around thirty vehicles dating from the late 18th century to the early 20th century.
Animal-drawn transport was still widely used until relatively recently, and a number of these vehicles were once used at Villa di Maser for everyday life.
Falling into disuse with the advent of the automobile, they were preserved and collected by Count Enrico Luling Buschetti who, as a great enthusiast of the equestrian world, restored them and added more to the collection—eventually assembling a truly representative display of wheeled transport in Italy during the 19th and 20th centuries.
The collection consists of around 30 vehicles. Highlights include a mail coach, familiar from many Western films, and a brougham—known locally as a brùm—a 19th-century Milanese taxi.
